Cody was originally scheduled to defend the title against Guevara, however he was pulled from the match due to possible exposure to COVID-19, so his brother Dustin faced Guevara with the winner becoming interim champion.

TITLE VACATED (May 2024 - June 2024):

*Note: The AEW TNT Championship was relinquished by Adam Copeland on the AEW Dynamite episode that was immediately following the AEW Double or Nothing 2024 Pay-Per-View Event, where Copeland was injured during his Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match with Malakai Black.  The title was declared vacant by AEW Executive Vice Presidents The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson), who attempted to award the title to fellow Elite member Jack Perry before AEW Interim Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels (put in charge by Tony Khan) made it official that at Forbidden Door 2024 there would be a 6-Man Ladder Match to crown a new champion and Qualifying Matches would take place on the weeks leading up to the PPV with the winners of the qualifying matches facing each other in a 6-Man Ladder Match at Forbidden Door 2024!
