First Champion: Taz (May 1998 - December 1998):

  • ECW Heat Wave 1998: FTW Rules Falls Count Anywhere Match: Taz (c) def. Bam Bam Bigelow to retain the title

  • ECW Live Event - December 19th, 1998: 3-Way Dance: Sabu def. Taz (c) and Justin Credible to win the title
Second Champion: Sabu (December 1998 - March 1999):

  • ECW Live Event - February 6th, 1999: FTW Rules Falls Count Anywhere Match: Sabu (c) vs. Taz goes to a 30-minute time limit draw

  • ECW Living Dangerously 1999: ECW World Heavyweight Championship / FTW Championship Unification Falls Count Anywhere Match: Taz (c) [ECW] def. Sabu (c) [FTW] to become unified champion.
Third Champion: Taz (2) (March 1999 - July 2020):

TITLE BECOMES INACTIVE (March 1999 - July 2020): 

Taz brings the title back in All Elite Wrestling in July 2020 and awards the title to Brian Cage, who he managed. Cage was #1 contender for Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship and Moxley was pulled from the match due to health related issues causing Taz to award the title to Cage much in the same circumstances that Taz introduced the title in the first place when Shane Douglas was injured and Taz wanted to be World Champion. 

Fourth Champion: Brian Cage (July 2020 - July 2021):


  • AEW DARK - July 2nd, 2020: Brian Cage (c) def. Brian Pillman, Jr. to retain the title
  • AEW Dynamite: Chris Jericho's 30 Year Anniversary Show: Brian Cage (c) def. Will Hobbs to retain the title

  • AEW DARK - March 11th, 2021: Brian Cage (c) def. Brandon Cutler to retain the title
  • AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest 2021: Ricky Starks def. Brian Cage (c) to win the title

  • AEW Dynasty 2024: FTW Rules Match for FTW Championship: Chris Jericho def. HOOK (c) to win the title
Ninth Champion: Chris Jericho (April 2024-present):

*Note: Chris Jericho renamed the FTW "F*ck The World" Championship to the FTW "For The World" Championship during this period, no longer having "FTW Rules" No Disqualification matches for the title. This is all part of Jericho's "The Learning Tree" gimmick, which includes "Redwood" Big Bill and "Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith! 


  • AEW Dynamite - May 1st, 2024: Chris Jericho (c) def. Katsuyori Shibata to retain the title 
  • AEW Double or Nothing 2024: 3-Way Match for FTW "For The World" Championship: Chris Jericho (c) def. HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata to retain the title 
  • AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts 2024: FTW Rules: Chris Jericho (c) def. Minoru Suzuki to retain the title 
  • AEW ALL IN: LONDON 2024: HOOK def. Chris Jericho (c) to win the title for a record-setting 3rd time

10th Champion: HOOK (August 2024-September 2024):


  • AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024: HOOK (c) def. Roderick Strong to retain the title
TITLE IS RETIRED FOLLOWING HOOK's DEFENSE AGAINST RODERICK STRONG. HOOK RETURNED THE TITLE TO HIS FATHER, THE HUMAN SUPLEX MACHINE TAZ, WHO WAS THE INAUGURAL FTW CHAMPION in 1998!

HOOK hands the FTW Championship back to his father, wrestling legend Taz, after announcing that the title would be retired effective immediately.
