Background:

AEW Double or Nothing was the inaugural pay-per-view 

event of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) promotion, which took place on May 25, 2019, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All Elite Wrestling was formed in January 2019 by Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and billionaire Tony Khan, who's father owns the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team. The group (minus Khan) promoted ALL IN in September 2018 and it was the precursor to the formation of AEW. 

Upon the formation of AEW they announced signings such as multi-time World Champion Chris Jericho. "Hangman" Adam Page, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.,
